Asteroids as a tool for understanding the evolution of the Solar System

Asteroids are the remnants from the formation of the Solar System. They witnessed all stages of its violent evolution. From their current distribution in the Solar System we try to recreate its former history. However there are still many basic problems connected to the detailed determination of the asteroids physical parameters from different kinds of observations. Combining them  is a very challenging task but we are working on it.
