The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of

Professor

at the Theoretical Physics Division - Department of Fundamental Research (DBP)

Location: 7 Pasteur Street, 02-093 Warsaw

Scientific discipline: physic

Within the structures of the Theoretical Physics Division the candidate will conduct research in the field of theoretical nuclear  physics, with particular emphasis on superheavy elements  studies. Ultimately the candidate is expected to take the leading role in the nuclear physics group of Theoretical Physics Division (BP2) at NCBJ.

Requirements:

  • knowledge on physics of heavy and superheavy nuclei documented by research publications;

  • documented experience in developing and applications of  nuclear models, in  particular,  both microscopic-macroscopic and mean-field methods;

  • expertise in methods of calculating fission and alpha-
    half-lives of heavy nuclei;
     

Additional assets:

  • expertise in studies of exotic nuclear states, including high-K configurations and very deformed nuclear shapes typical for fission and fusion processes.
