Abstract:

Efficiency of nuclear reactors used by power industries all over the world already for several tens of years is not satisfactory as compared to other power sources. The new Dual Fluid Reactor concept worked out in Szczecin might bypass disadvantages of the currently used solutions. The method of comparing different power sources will be introduced. Capabilities of nuclear fusion technology based either on high-temperature plasma or on nuclear reactions occuring at extremely low energies takong advantage of the electron screening effect will be presented. Some most recent experimental results and their theoretical implications will be discussed.
