Abstract:

In ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions, hydrodynamics has been successfully applied to describe the evolution of the quark-gluon plasma. The applicability of hydrodynamics implies a significant reduction in the number of degrees of freedom. We study this reduction for a simple kinetic theory undergoing Bjorken flow.
