How to meet challenges of the HTR-in-Poland project?

Abstract: 

Research on High Temperature Reactors (HTR) have been conducted around the world for a few dozen years. Even if several concepts/solutions have been proposed during that period (with bigger or smaller success), possible solutions have by no means been fully explored. The HTR-in-Poland project is rather complex and some questions concerning reactor concept itself and the research methodology to be followed to find answers to these questions should be asked. Research objectives should be clearly defined for both simulation and experimental works. Outcomes of those works should allow to fully assess merits of HTRs in Poland, and to identify the necessary research efforts, financial outlays, and civilizational leap of the country.

  • AGH University of Technology graduate, specialty: technical nuclear physics
  • PhD at Tokyo University, subject: nuclear engineering
  • Head of the Nuclear Power Chair at the AGH University of Technology Faculty of Energy and Fuels
  • For 30 years has been conducting research on future nuclear power systems, including the 4th generation reactors, in particular physics and time evolution of HTR reactors
  • Author of an original computational method to simulate nuclear transmutations and author of the MCB software package.
