The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position:

Assistant professor  

in Theoretical Physics Division (BP2)

Location: Pasteura 7, 02-093 Warsaw.

Scientific discipline: physics

Description of tasks:

Within the structures of the Theoretical Physics Division the candidate will conduct research in the field of theoretical nuclear physics, with particular emphasis on heavy nuclei. 

Requirements:

The candidate is expected to have the doctoral degree and a documented expertise in theoretical nuclear physics specialized on super-heavy nuclei and shell model.

The candidate is expected to have:

  • significant scientific expertise, documented by publications, in the field of low-energy theoretical nuclear physics;
  • expertise on numerical methods in low-energy theoretical nuclear physics; 
  • very good and documented expertise on applications of nuclear models;
  • excellent knowledge of the shell model will be an advantage;
  • experience in international collaborations;
  • experience in obtaining research grants in open competitions;
  • excellent spoken and written English skills;
