Uranium plates for research on BNCT therapy

NCBJ has ordered the TVEL Russian company to deliver some uranium plates necessary to conduct research on the boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT). The contract was signed during the ATOMEXPO fair held in Moscow between May 30 – June 1, 2016. The plates will be used to build converter producing epithermal neutrons from neutrons exiting the re-furbished H2 channel of the MARIA reactor core. It has been another step on the way to develop a BNCT research & training facility in Świerk.
